A BUSINESSMAN has pledged to reconnect his business with the local community.

Mr Ferhat Ozkan was speaking at a Harlow Council planning committee on Wednesday night.

Planning permission for a change of use to a supermarket and take away at the Pink Cottage on Commonside Road in Harlow was granted.

The business has been at the heart of a number of complaints regarding crime and anti-social behaviour over the past few years.

Mr Ozkan said: “I want to make sure the site benefits the local community and overcomes its bad history.

“We hope this will be an asset to the community.”
