PASSMORES has been celebrating the recent success of one of its students at the Harlow Educational Progress Awards.
Evie Matthews first heard by letter that she had been put forward by the school to receive a 1st place nomination in recognition of her excellent progress between Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. For this, she was awarded a £30 voucher. But then a few days later, the judging panel notified Evie that she had been voted as the Overall Winner of her category, and she received a further £100 prize.
Evie was delighted to win the award and is looking forward to a bright future on leaving school. Evie said: ‘When I leave Passmores I’m going on to study photography at college as I have thoroughly enjoyed my photography lessons at school. I would love a career in this subject and would ideally mix my love of sports with photography to become a sports photographer. That would be fantastic.’
Evie’s mum, Catherine said: ‘It was such a lovely surprise to receive the award in the post during lockdown. We are so proud of Evie. It was amazing to hear that she was nominated by the school for this award and then to find out that she was overall winner, well, we were thrilled. She has worked really hard over the past few years to better herself. She cares so much about her school work and is always so diligent. Passmores has always been behind her 100 percent of the way, from year 7 to year 11. The staff at Passmores have bent over backwards with Evie’s education and well-being and she has thrived in its environment.’
