ONE of our favourite runners here at YH is “Tall Kelly”. We call her Tall Kelly because she is called Kelly and she is Tall (all those years of education..money well spent-Ed).
Last week, Harlow Running Club member Kelly passed us by as she was running by the River Stort. She told us she was training for an Ultra Marathon. We didn’t realise she was running for charity.
What is Kelly raising money for?
Kelly said: “I am running with Dawn. We met through running back in 2017, we both love running and have run lots of events together including half marathons, marathons and a 24hr event.
We wanted to give ourselves a challenge in 2021 after the awful pandemic that swept through 2020 causing so much death, heartache, sadness and screwing with peoples mental health with Lockdown and not being able to see family and friends .
“So we are running 100k, which is 62 miles, which is just over 2 and a half marathons, continuously. We will be running the Cotswold Way Challenge in June and are raising money for Mental Health UK.
“We will be doing monthly challenges in the run up to the big event to raise money, we will also be having raffles too. Anything you can donate will be much appreciated, even if its £1.00.”
So please click on the link below. Kelly does a hell of a lot for the running community in Harlow.
