Gilden Way closure comes as bombshell to Gibberd Gardens

THE news of the Gilden Way closure for five weekends has come as a bombshell for the Gibberd Garden. This is the start of their busiest time of the year with a June programme planned for many months.
Tickets have been sold for events and now they are having to postpone or cancel these events.
They will however try to remain open to the public every Sunday from 2pm to 5pm and hope visitors will understand their difficulty when it comes to access to the gardens.
A friend of The Gibberd Garden said: “The detour proposed by Essex County Council is very circuitous involving traveling from Harlow via Bishop Stortford to Hatfield Heath. It will cause inconvenience and distress to many local residents. It will also see a fall in trade to other independent businesses just as they were expecting to get back on their feet.
The Gibberd Garden has just about weathered the storm of Covid and now we have these restrictions imposed upon us.
“Any well wishers might visit our website for further up dates and anyone feeling just a little generous might visit the Just Giving Gibberd Garden website and consider making a donation to see us through this harsh time”.
