GCSE Results: Passmores Academy celebrate hard work in disruptive year
Education: Secondary / Thu 12th Aug 2021 pm31 04:47pm
THIS year, more than ever, Passmores Academy is celebrating the hard work of the community it serves. During the most disrupted time for children’s education since the Second World War the achievements of our young people are phenomenal.
Parents/carers have had to turn their homes into schools and support their children with their learning more than ever before. Teachers have had to learn completely new ways of teaching. The students have had to switch between working independently from home to being in school with a stack of new rules to follow. They have dealt with the uncertainty of having to isolate at various times whilst not really having clear information, until very late, about how they are going to get GCSE/BTEC results.
Whilst today has had a focus on exam outcomes it is important that all young people remember that the person they are, their ability to communicate, to problem solve, to show resilience and to love and be loved is what will form the basis of their future lives.
Today we saw how well the school, the young people and their families have achieved this, and we know the future of our community is a in good hands.
