Appeal after 90-year-old woman is victim of distraction burglary

OFFICERS investigating a distraction burglary in Roydon where an elderly woman was targeted have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to.

It happened in Epping Road at around 5pm on 1 July.

The victim, who is in her 90s, reported a man had turned up at her address claiming there was a leak and he needed to check her tap.


The man checked a tap downstairs before going upstairs and then leaving the property with a bag belonging to the woman.

It is not believed any valuable items were stolen.
