Harlow SOUP returns for a BBQ special

Charity / Sun 22nd Aug 2021 at 07:18am

HARLOW SOUP are looking for local people and community projects in need of funding to pitch at their forthcoming event on Saturday 11th September.

Harlow SOUP is a community micro-funding event where attendees will pay to have a BBQ lunch in the beautiful surroundings of Herts & Essex Community Farm. Before eating, four organisations will each have four minutes to present their project and what they would spend any winnings on. The only rule is that the project has to benefit Harlow in some way. After listening to the pitches and eating, all attendees vote on which project they liked the most and the project with the most votes takes away the ticket sales.

In previous years, Harlow SOUP hosted from either Phoenix Live or Pemberley Academy always serves up delicious homemade soup, but since the pandemic, the community group have been unable to run an event in-person, opting instead for online events via Facebook Live. The long anticipated return of Harlow SOUP promises to be a wonderful afternoon filled with good food, live music and great community spirit.

Please apply via the link if you are interested in pitching your project:

The event will run from 1 – 3pm and will feature live music from the incredibly talented local artist, Lauren McKay. All food will be locally sourced with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available.
