Campaigners continue to put pressure to stop building on Harlow’s Green Belt

THE HARLOW Alliance Party is continuing to campaign against the amount of building proposed near Harlow’s green belt.
Nicholas Taylor said: “Since the launch of a petition supporting the campaign to stop Epping Forest District Council (EFDC) allowing thousands of homes to be built along Harlow’s border, hundreds of residents living in Harlow have taken the opportunity for the first time to voice their opposition to these proposals.
Neither EFDC or Harlow District Council have made any attempt to inform let alone consult residents living in the town about the Local Development Plan of EFDC despite the effect this Plan will have on residents and where they live.
Recent changes to the Plan have seen some new housing sites across the EFDC district being deleted or the number of homes proposed reduced but no changes have been made in respect of the sites around Harlow.
Despite the recent change in the administration at Harlow Council, the Conservative group have continued along the path of the Labour group in failing to inform residents of what is being proposed by EFDC even though some homes in Sumners, Katherines, Bush Fair and Old Harlow neighbourhoods are just feet away from the proposed new developments.
The closing date for comments about the plan is fast approaching.
You can find more details about the Plan including maps of the proposed areas by looking at www.harlowallianceparty.org where you can also find the petition, or you can go direct to the petition at https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/stop-building-on-harlow-s-green-belt
I'm still suprised that so few people in Harlow even know about this...the councils magazine 'Harlow Times" ?? came out the other week...and it wasn't even mentioned...ITS SHAMEFUL THAT COUNCILLORS PRODUCE A MAGAZINE AT OUR EXPENSE THAT INTENDS TO MISINFORM! GOEBEL would have been proud..
