Objections to bid for outside shelter at Harlow pub
Planning / Wed 8th Sep 2021 at 12:16pm
OBJECTIONS have been made to a planning application for the Three Horsehoes pub in Harlow.
The application is for the following:
New timber framed pergola with shingle felt roof, festoon lighting and heat lamps to existing patio area.
Repositioning of the existing smoking shelter along with the removal of the drinks shelf to the existing smoking area.
There have been two objections from neighbours raising the following concerns:
Impact on residential amenity – The development would seriously impact the quality of our family life, the pergola is close to our rear courtyard and our bedrooms, the development that would be closer to our home would increase the level of noise and disruption as it would be heated and covered so would encourage people to congregate to the rear of the pub, over recent years have had to complain to environmental health and the police as evening noise levels have sometimes been unbearable and sometimes police have had to be called.
Really against the proposals, previously lived adjacent to other licensed premises and had to call out environmental health regularly and eventually had to move, if lives affected will not hesitate to call out environmental health again.
The application is set to be debated at Harlow Council planning meeting on Wednesday September 15th at 7.30pm.

Dry nice secluded pub can see no objection to expansion.
Who is Eileen Hobbs - does she live adjacent to the Pub? Obviously not!
This pub has been a pain in the backside for three Horseshoes road for years. The late night noise with the awful bands and speeding cars, drunks waiting outside, drug paraphernalia strewn around. This is not a quiet local pub for locals this is a company trying to get as much money into it without care for the local community. If it did care about the locals, and in fact if the council or local environmental health cared about its locals this place would never be granted a music licence again! It’s farcical to say it’s a quiet local pub! With the cars screeching around the car park and late night shouting and music. One neighbour has reluctantly already thrown in the towel and sold her home! It’s about time someone listened !
Go door to door and ask how many locals enjoy the benefit of this pub. They don’t! It’s visited by people who like a late drink and make a lot of noise! Because the don’t live locally!
Don’t like the news and people pubs attract don’t buy a house near one.
Always a great place to score gear! Can't wait to get it back open again!
