MEMBERS of the Save Our Stort campaign handed over a petition to the Chair of East Herts Planning Committee.
As the plan for a major highway across the River Stort cuts across two council areas, it will be discussed at East Herts Planning Committee as well as Haroow Council Planning Committee.
A SOS spokesperson said: “This afternoon some of our campaigners headed off to Hertford Council offices to present the petition to the Chairman of the East Herts Development Committee.
“We chose to present Bob Deering with a USB stick rather than printing out 250 pages.
He accepted graciously and was very helpful. He will now add the petition to the planning application.
“A huge thank you to everyone who signed the petition.
We will shortly be issuing a link to a template whereby residents of Harlow DC and East Herts DC will be able to write an email directly to their councillors. This will be in a few days.
It is vital that our supporters also make an objection directly on the planning application.
Here is the link https://publicaccess.eastherts.gov.uk/…/applicationDeta…
The full application number is 3/19/1051/FUL
“Thank you for your continued support and we will see some of you at the protest on Saturday”.
YH has spoken to the chair of Harlow Council’s Planning Committee, cllr Mike Garnett who confirmed that he would be happy to accept the petition but would not be able to make any comment whatsoever.
