Football: Harlow Town announce new signings and cup draw
Football / Tue 12th Oct 2021 at 08:07am
HARLOW Town FC are pleased to confirm the double signing of Robbie Rees and Samson Maagbe.
Rees is an attacking player who can play in midfield or as a forward, who signs from Brentwood Town where he has had a couple of spells in recent years.
He has also featured for Brightlingsea Regent over two separate stints, as well as time spent at Dagenham & Redbridge, Enfield Town, Aveley and VCD Athletic.
He will strengthen the squad at a time when we have suffered injuries to our forward line, and he will provide more attacking options.
We are also pleased to confirm the arrival of Samson Maagbe, who came off the bench at the weekend in the Hawks’ 3-1 win over Phoenix Sports in the Buildbase FA Trophy.
He is another midfielder, and he counts Margate, Faversham Town, Woking, Coventry Sphinx and Kettering Town amongst his former clubs.
Both players will be available for selection tomorrow as we host Ware in the Pitching In Southern League Challenge Cup. Kick off is at 7:45pm.
Finally, we can also confirm that Warren Kayembe and Connor Tyrrell have left the club in search of more playing time, and we wish them the best for their future careers.
The draw for the Buildbase Third Round Qualifying draw has been made today (Monday 11th October).
Following the Hawks’ 3-1 win over Phoenix Sports in the Second Qualifying Round, Harlow Town will now travel to Bedfont Sports in the next round.
Bedfont Sports overcame Romford by the same scoreline, a 3-1 win, to secure their own place in the draw.
The match is scheduled to take place on Saturday 30th October, with a 3pm kick off. As in previous qualifying rounds, there are no replays and if the scores are level after 90 minutes the tie will be decided on penalties.
As a result, the Hawks’ away league match that was scheduled for that date has been postponed, and a new date will be announced in due course.
