Park Run

THERE was a very close finish at the end of the Harlow parkrun on Saturday.

ParkrunandBeyond’s Lee Wood beat off Harlow Running Club’s Paskell Blackwell by just a second, both producing their best times on the course with 17.19 and 17.20 respectively.

There were also course best times for 3rd, 4th, 7th, 9th and 10th.

ParkrunandBeyond’s Martyn Coulter has been in fine form of late and produced a time of 19.19.

Martyn puts his recent run of good times down to working worth his coaches.

Harlow Running Club

Harlow Running Club member Paul Watts entered the SVN 500 (Saxons Vikings Normans Marathons and Challenges 500th Event) at the weekend. This involves completing as many laps of a 4.37 mile trail course at Betteshanger Country Park Deal, Kent, within a 6 hour time limit. Paul finished in 21st place out of 129 finishers and completed 6 laps for a total of 28.2 miles in 6hrs 12min 42sec.

Meanwhile, at the Bucks Trail Half Marathon, overlooking the Chilterns at the Wendover Woods in Buckinghamshire, Sean Flynn finished in 70th place out of 135 finishers in 2.21.57.

Robert Foxley finished the New York City Virtual Marathon in 4.33.27.

A total of 64 runners completed various parkruns on Saturday morning including 40 at Harlow.

There were PB runs from Keith Streeter and Sam Nicholls at Harlow and Jon Waight at the Gunpowder parkrun at Waltham Abbey.
