Seashell Care: Harlow couple set up new care company that makes “positive impact on community”

WE are always keen to focus on new businesses in Harlow and give them all the encouragement we can.
SeaShell is a local family business that was started because Michelle and Sean Gulrajani believe that care and care providers are undervalued; something which has been especially highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
They want to enhance the traditional domiciliary care model to improve the quality of care provided and the carer’s career, whilst making a positive impact on their local community.
Sean said: “Our parents have worked in healthcare in the local area for most of their lives so we both grew up in environments focused on providing quality care and have seen the impact and benefit this has on an individual’s quality of life.
“Whilst all environments have their benefits, care in your own home (domiciliary care) is the only environment which allows truly bespoke care.
“The longer we can facilitate independent living, the greater the level of comfort for each client and the less demand placed on the NHS. By starting SeaShell, we want to make outstanding care the norm that it should be”
YH went down to their offices to find out more about SeaShell Care.
Innovative, professional, caring and committed to the clients and their staff. What more could we ask for, a caring emoyer with aspirations to succeed in helping. Of course, profits are important but this team is about 'quality care'. Best wishes for the journey ahead.

I'm proud to be one of the six carers that work at SeaShell and I just wanted to testify to everything Sean and Michelle have said in this interview. Not only are they passionate about providing excellent care for the clients, they are totally supportive of the carers! If you're reading this and feel you could make a difference in care, please give Michelle and Sean a telephone call, irrespective of your care experience or lack thereof because you will receive full training and won't be expected to visit a client without first having Sean or Michelle show you the ropes - believe me, I'm living proof! If you're feeling nervous about making that first call (I know I was!), just do it because you won't regret it, I never have!
My parents have dementia, the pandemic has had a huge impact on them. However, Seashell are providing a holistic support package, we can enjoy quality time as a family now, because stressful things like prescriptions, chasing up referrals, meals, administering medication are professionally processed by Seashell... Even walking the dog!
I'm so proud and happy to be part of this amazing them. I went into this job not knowing the industry and feel like I'm thriving and having a positive impact on my clients as they do on me as well. The care this company gives me as well as the new clients who join is impeccable I couldn't ask for a more loving and professional place to better my career
