St Mark’s sixth formers recommend Open Evening
Education: Secondary / Wed 3rd Nov 2021 at 02:53pm
ON THURSDAY evening, St Mark’s West Essex Catholic School will be hosting its Open Evening for its prospective students.
YH went down to the Tripton Road school to speak to two of its students, Andrew and Bethany.
We hope this five minute interview gives another insight into why St Mark’s has such an envied reputation.
Thank you to Andrew and Bethany, who are two wonderful ambassadors for the school.
St Mark’s is currently the only school in Harlow to offer students the opportunity to continue their studies beyond the age of 16 in a school-based, Catholic environment.
An extensive range of AS Level courses is provided to maximise student choice; 29 AS Level courses are offered. A2 courses are taken in Year 13 in all major subjects. Cambridge Technical courses are offered in Business (Double Award), ICT (Single Award) and Health and Social Care.
A well established programme of Vocational Education complements the A/Level courses. Cambridge Technical Certificate is offered in Business.
Progression to university and other Higher Education colleges is encouraged with most A Level students achieving this with the help and support of the teaching staff and, in particular, the Head of Sixth Form. Pastoral guidance is given a high priority with students having ready access to personal tutors.
