Music: Fleeting Mind will stay long in the memory

WE recently came across a Harlow-based group called Fleeting Mind.

The band from Harlow came together in 2019 but began creating the project during the first lockdown.

It was a re-connection for the two songwriters, Lee Cook and Ashley Blanchard who had been in a band back in 2008.

Lee said: “We began exchanging song ideas and it grew from there really, we wanted to see what the songs sounded like as a full band. Soon as the lockdown was lifted we were able to get together and start building the melodies/songs”

Fleeting Mind create an eclectic mix of melodic tales and soaring guitar pop. Taking influences from 60’s British invasion bands, Brit-Pop anthems and elements of psychedelia to create catchy British sounding melodies.

Their double, debut single is out now! Mixed and mastered by Ben Gordelier of Paul Weller and The Moons.

Lee added: “Working with Ben was very surreal. Having someone who you’ve seen live and who works with Paul Weller on a daily basis comment and like the songs blew us away.

He’s already penciled in for recording our album which we’ve already written, so that will be something we are looking to release early next year.

“We are happy working in the studio building our sound and have been very lucky to have a studio we call home which is our lead guitarists (Pocket Factory studio)

“That said, we can’t wait to get the songs out on the road for everyone to hear as you can’t beat live music. I think people have missed the live music scene”

The band have had numerous radio plays of their release and are streamed regularly on various spotify playlists.

Grab Saying The Last Goodbye/Forever Just A Dream on all digital online stores.

The band will be taking their music live December 21 and next year will see more gigs and festivals plus a big support slot so keep an eye out for gig announcements!!

The band consist of Lee Cook lead vocals/guitar, Ashley Blanchard guitar, Jack Findell lead guitar, Tommy Judd drums.
