General / Wed 24th Nov 2021 at 01:56pm

HARLOW Council has issued a statement after an unauthorised traveller encampment moved onto land in Harlow.

Councillor Russell Perrin, Leader of Harlow Council, said: “We are aware that there is currently four caravans on land near to Harlow Fields School. We have a zero tolerance approach to unauthorised traveller encampments and we will use every legal power available to deal with this.

“We are working to resolve this immediately and are in contact with Essex Police and the Essex Countywide Traveller unit. Both the Police and the Council’s community safety team have been on site this morning and will be returning shortly to the site to instruct the encampment to vacate the land today.”

They was parked on the road(Tendring) last night at 2200 so if they are on the old compound site how did the fence and barrier get taken down to allow access, this is street view from last year, If that is where they have camped. https://www.instantstreetview.com/@51.760332,0.102117,173.81h,5p,1z,XwqELDErytpf9MbnKZ-grw

If it is illegal, as it appears to be, then IT IS ILLEGAL and the Council are right to act on residents behalf - and to act quickly. [Harlow is 'famous' for poor Grandma! - sorry, poor grammar!]

Grammar police, might I suggest you get a proper understanding and comprehension of the English language before you begin correcting others?
