STEWARDS Academy got into the charity spirit once again, with its Children in Need activities.

Leading up to a whole school dress down day the pupils had the opportunity to get involved with different tutor competitions, including a Pudsey puzzle, draw your form tutor and a highly competitive treasure hunt! Pupils also had special Children in Need assemblies led by Miss Dickinson and members of the Student Leadership Team, where they were reminded about why we support this national charity and the work it does.

On Friday 19th November staff and pupils had the chance to dress down; with a number of staff wearing pyjamas and super casual lounge wear.

A raffle was held with a giant Pudsey, and other prizes won by pupils, including some mini Pudsey bears and tote bags. James in Year 8 was the lucky winner of the giant Pudsey. The tickets were sold throughout the week by our excellent charity reps and the winners drawn by Deputy Head Boy, Wahid.

Staff also had the opportunity to bid for a beautiful cake made by Erin, an incredibly talented Year 11 pupil. The successful bidder was Mr Springthorpe who said it “was absolutely delicious!”

Di da Vighi, Enrichment Co-Ordinator, said: “It was a fantastic week with the different Children in Need activities taking place. A massive thank you to Miss Dickinson, the Student Leaders and the Charity Reps who gave up their time to support and prepare the various activities and assemblies. It was wonderful to see the whole academy community taking part.”
