Update: Man dies in road traffic collision on Abercrombie Way

Statement from Essex Police

“We were called to reports of a single vehicle collision in Abercrombie Way, Harlow at 5.30pm on Thursday 17 December.

We believe the driver had become unwell.

Officers attended and, sadly, the driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Our enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

1830 hrs

THE EMERGENCY service are in attendance at what appears to be a serious road traffic incident in Harlow.

Several fire, police and ambulance units are at Third Avenue with the junction of Abercrombie Way.

They have been there since 1730 hours (approx).

Abercrombie Way is closed from Pyenest Road. You cannot get access from Third Avenue.

There is a contraflow system on Third Avenue towards Katherines.

We have contacted the press office for more information.

“Crews were called to Third Avenue, Harlow at 5:36pm this evening, to assist the Ambulance Service after reports of a road traffic collision, involving one car”.
