A YELLOW weather warning for thunderstorms has been made for Essex today as rain sweeps across the South East.
The Met Office has issued advice as the warning for thunderstorms will be in place from midday today until 6pm.
The band of thunderstorms is set to move eastwards and potentially cause some disruption across various areas of Essex.
The Met Office has advised that spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
There is also a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.
Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services, and there’s a slight chance of some damage to trees and buildings, such as fallen branches and tiles blown from roofs.
