YEAR 3 pupils at Roydon Primary School, in Roydon, took part in a living history workshop with Those History People as part of their topic work.
They tried their hands at mummification, making clay canopic jars, scarab carving, ink making, bread making and making perfume cones.
The day ended with a banquet where pupils sampled Ancient Egyptian food.
Teacher Alison Hazell said: “Pupils enjoyed practical activities, role play and drama, all helping them to learn about the past.
“Taking part in a hands-on workshop provided Year 3 with a real sense of what life was like for Ancient Egyptians. It was a perfect way to consolidate their understanding of a topic which they have learnt so much about, as well as thoroughly enjoyed.”
