YOUNG children became scientists as they were given the opportunity to complete practical experiments.
Science was promoted to pupils at Freshwaters Primary Academy, in Harlow, during their science week.
The Birdman visited the school with his collection of owls and eagles to highlight the importance of conservation.
Pupils dressed as wizards and mad scientists and enjoyed a Hogwarts inspired lunch.
Headteacher Jackie Diggle said: “We had a team of magical scientists visit the school to introduce the children to chemistry experiments, colour changing potions, magically inflating balloons, toothpaste for giants and an amazing magical ice demonstration!
“The children really benefited from seeing science brought to life and how exciting science can be. It really gave them a chance to explore and develop their curiosity.
“I definitely feel we have inspired some future scientists.”
