Specialist officers arrest Harlow man in drugs operation

OFFICERS from our Operational Support Group (OSG) have made more than a dozen arrests in the last few days as they continue to keep you safe, tackle crime, and target those intent on causing you harm. On Sunday, they made a total of seven arrests across the county including in connection with domestic abuse, drugs and assault investigations.

On Monday, they arrested a man on suspicion of burglary and criminal damage and, separately, a woman wanted for breaching the terms of her release from prison.On Tuesday, while carrying out proactive patrols on our roads officers stopped a car and found an amount of Class A drugs inside.The driver, 38 year-old Charlie Lancaster, of Woodcroft, Harlow, has been charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and acquiring, using, or possessing criminal property.

He was due to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday 24 February).

They also supported an operation where six people were arrested following warrants in Chelmsford, Braintree, and Cambridgeshire in connection with an investigation into the theft of an ATM in Black Notley last month.

Four men arrested – Shane Parker, 25, of Swaynes Lane, Comberton, Wayne Parker, 27, of Sandiacres Caravan Site, Long Green, Cressing, Jamie Parker, 37, of Church Road, Wicken, Ely, and Danny Johnson, 22, of Ampthill Road, Kempston Hardwick, Bedford – have since been charged with burglary.Then yesterday, they made four arrests in connection with vehicle theft, drink driving, and immigration offences.

Chief Inspector Darren Deex, who leads the OSG, said: “As this work shows, my officers continue to be working around the county to keep you safe whether it be targeted arrest attempts, executing warrants, or proactively patrolling our roads.

“We will continue this work to support other teams across Essex Police to tackle crime and those intent on causing you harm.”
