Harlow Foodbank make appeal for plastic bags

An appeal from Harlow Foodbank
CAN you help us? We are in real need of plastic carrier bags preferably the bags for life type ( from any supermarket) as they are thicker and carry more.
We are currently using about 500 a week. If you have any spare that are in good condition we would be very grateful for them.
You can drop them at St Pauls in the town centre ( by the Playhouse) between 11 and 2 Monday to Friday or at the storehouse Unit 8, Housham Hall Farm, CM17 OPB between 9am and 3pm.
If you wish to make a donation so that we can buy bags please go onto out Facebook page.
When we buy them the bags cost between 10 and 20p each.

Are the people and families using food banks not able to bring their own bags? What have most of them been doing for shopping in the last several years? Going through 500 a week can they not bring them back next week? Answer is not to just expect more donations of plastic bags that seems to be used for single use.
