WHILST THE date for a new hospital for Harlow is now set for 2028 at the earliest, planning applications for the present site at Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) continue to be submitted.

It must be a difficult balancing act. You have to continue applying for a new build off by the M11 but meanwhile the old building on Hamstel Road, needs attending to.

There are two applications this month.

1. Full planning application for the previously temporary permission granted for the Charney Ward and Alex Training Centre at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow. Allowing for the schemes to be retained post the December 2023 deconstruction deadline conditions from the temporary application submitted under references HW/FUL/18/00462 and HW/FUL/21/00232
2. Retrospective consent for installation of a modular extension to allow for the provision of a new staff lounge and agile office working space.
