Crime / Sat 21st May 2022 am31 06:29am

A MAN has been arrested following a warrant in Bishops Stortford on Wednesday 18 May.

Officers from Uttlesford’s Community Policing Team, with assistance from our North Disruptor team, Dog Unit, Force Support Unit (FSU) and officers from the RSPCA, carried out a warrant at an address in Bambers Green early Wednesday morning.

When they arrived at the scene, officers found an established cannabis cultivation with around 200 plants.

A 36-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of cannabis cultivation and supply, possession of an offensive weapon and animal cruelty.

He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

The warrant was executed as part of an RSPCA-led investigation into dog fighting.

A total of sixteen dogs were also removed from the property and are being cared for by the RSPCA.
