Cricket / Sun 29th May 2022 at 10:51am

TYE Green Cricket Club (TGCC) made the short visit to Broxbourne CC.

TGCC lost the toss and was put into bat. After a slow start and losing a couple of quick wickets, the captain Jack Tracey and Usman Atuf steadied the ship.

Jack hit 34 and Usman hit 58. This was his debut 50 for the club.

Then a father and son wicket stand for Peter Jackson 45 from 19 balls and Callum Jackson 14 from 12 balls were able to see it out for the 40 overs.

Broxbourne needed 242 to win and this was the highest score set by TGCC this season so far.

Opening bowlers Arif and Peter tried to keep the opening batsman quiet however a few short balls saw quick runs start gathering on the board.

The bowling of Travis Barzey and Jawed Khan was able to settle the score right down and also taking 7 wickets between made it possible for the club to press on and get the needed win for the club.

Big mention to Trent Lintonbon-Baker for taking his debut catch behind the stumps, Safi Judeen needs a special mention for such a quality catch at square leg from a ball which was hit with some power.

Onwards and upwards for the club.
