Cricket: Nazeing Common continue winning run

NAZEING Common celebrated their second 40 point Saturday in a row after two impressive win.

The first team beat Hatfield Heath, scoring 276-9 in 45 overs. Skipper Reese lead the way with 75 runs.

Nazeing’s bowlers started brilliantly, with Josh Stevens (4-31) and Ed Taylor (2-25) dominating the opening exchanges. The first change bowlers continues to bowl well, with Jamie Stevens (4-21) finishing the job.

Special mention to Paul Quinn, who bowled well despite taking no wickets, after last week’s golden duck. Wicketkeeper Jack Finch said, “The game developed so fast I lost track of time. It was great to clock off early.”

The second team beat Essendon after dismissing the home team for 128. Tight bowling from the whole attack gave Nazeing the edge, with Tarun Seera taking 3 wickets. In response Nazeing cantered to victory. Mark Pugsley top scored with 40 with Edwards and O’Neill making notable contributions.

Injured paceman Darren Dack said, “I’m delighted for the boys – it’s great to string some results together.”
