HARLOW Running and Tri Club member Robert Foxley completed the Run Through Lee Valley Velo Park Half Marathon, finishing in 8th place and 3rd Vet 40 in 1hr 37min 31sec.

At the same event in the 5k race, Thomas Beales finished in 6th place and 1st Vet 40 in a PB time of 20.11.

Meanwhile, at the Edinburgh Half Marathon Mick Gleeson was 8372nd in a time of 2.27.21.

There was a parkrun PB for Wendy Hunt at Harlow parkrun, finishing in 56th place out of 175 finishers in 26.43.

Several triathletes were in action during the past week.

At the Mallory Park Celebration Cup Sprint Duathlon (5km run, 20km bike, 2.5km run), in Leicestershire, Rob Lowe finished in 14th place out of 48 finishers and 1st Vet 50 in an excellent 1.01.33.

The London Ride 100 (miles), advertised as the the world’s greatest festival of cycling, a mass participation ride that take place on traffic-free roads in London and Essex, Jon Steadman finished in 5.50.44, Gail Nicholls 6.15.29 and Dom Emery 6.20.10.

These times would have been about 20min quicker if the race had not been halted because of a bad crash.

At the Ravens Budgens Aquathlon (750m swin, 4.5k run), at Chigwell, Pas Blackwell finished in 3rd place out of 46 finishers in 30.56. He was followed home by Alan Knightley 6th and 1st Vet 45 in 33.16, Lucy Barnes 7th and 2nd Female in 33.19, Ben Usher 12th in 35.16, Ryan Smith 15th 35.53, Simon Morgans 17th in 36.05, Terri Wiley 21st in 37.52, Gail Nicholls 22nd and 1st Female Vet 55 in 38.07, Jon Waight 26th and 1st Men’s Vet 55 in 40.53 and Julia Gardiner 31st in 32.55.

Last week the Club organised their own 5k run, for members only, which counts towards their Club Championship. The challenging run was over a 2.5 lap course centred around Pets Corner including twice up 5th Avenue.
