THE BOSS Of Harlow Playhouse has issued a statement after the police have stepped in to investigate an allegation of a homophobic attack.

“All Council facilities, including Harlow Playhouse, are welcoming and inclusive spaces. We will not tolerate any form of hate crime towards those using any of our facilities. We will always take the strongest possible action against those responsible.

“I am making this statement due to receiving a number of enquiries stating false information regarding the incident.

Essex Police have assigned officers to carry out a full investigation. Please allow them to complete their investigation without speculation around the details of the incident.

I am in contact with in regarding officers and we are providing our full support in their investigation. It would be inappropriate to comment any further whilst the police carry out their enquiries”.
