Harlow man banned after car hits tree whilst three times over the limit

A HARLOW man has been banned from driving for four years after being caught drink-driving for the third time in ten years.

Matthew Taylor, aged 32, of Bird Cherry Lane, Old Harlow pleaded guilty to the following.

On April 8th, 2022 at Harlow drove Ford Transit on Paycock Road, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in your breath, namely 101 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.

Taylor was committed to prison for four months, suspended for 18 months.

This was his third relevant offence in 10 years for drink driving.

The court heard that Taylor was involved in a road traffic collision with a tree and railings and significantly over the limit.

The defendant must comply with the following requirements within the supervision period of 18 months:

Alcohol Treatment Requirement: Have treatment for alcohol dependency by or under the direction of Phoenix Futures for six months.

Fine: £330.00

Obviously a prolific offender yet still only a suspended sentence, why???? Make a proper example of this prick and lend him a cell!!

When he kills a innocent family driving home one day that’s when he will get punished! The system is a joke, no one phones the police no more because nothing ever gets done. People have to deal with a lot of crime themselves.

i got a 2 year ban and £1000 fine for 0.2mg of cannabis on a breathaliser for a first offence hows the laws so lax on drink driving but so harsh on cannabis? honestly, the justice system in this country is pathetic and out of touch with modern day society.

I got a £450 fine for going over the speed limit on tower bridge because it’s a heritage site! It was 3 in the morning with no junctions obviously to cause anyone else harm. This man gets a £300 fine?
