THE new headmaster at St Nicholas School in Old Harlow only started in April but he has already settled in and is relishing the challenge.

Terence Ayres has become head at an exciting tome for the school.

Even as you walk into the grounds off Hobbs Cross Road, the old stables are being converted into a nursery.

That may underline the popularity of the independent school and also may show how they are at the heart of a new and growing community in the east of the town and beyond.

We sat down with Mr Ayres to see how he had settled in. We plan to return in 2023 and showcase his progress.
