Fundraising page to get Harlow man back from Turkey after balcony fall

Health / Sun 3rd Jul 2022 at 10:33am

A FUNDRAISING page has been set up to help a Harlow man after he fell from his hotel balcony in Turkey.

Nathan Howes fell from his hotel balcony in Turkey. He has multiple fractures to his face, arms legs and sternum.

The hospital in Turkey says it needs £8,000 to do the main two operations to make him fit to fly.

Once that happens he can receive further treatment back home.

At home, Nathan helps care for his dad who has been newly diagnosed with dementia.

Why didn't he have medical insurance when he booked his holiday? Wasn't worth saving the £50 now was it?!

while I hope he makes a speedy recovery and this can happen to anyone, travel/medical insurance is there for a reason and you should never skimp on paying a little more should the worst happen as it has here, a 2 week holiday insurance could be as little as £70

He may well have had travel insurance, but not read the small print. Which not many people do we just presume we are covered for everything. A really nice guy. I wish him a speedy recovery. I am sure if you text his customer's they will donate to help get him the treatment he needs.

Why do people have to make such hurtful comments about others. This must be heartbreaking for his family to see. Can you honestly say you've never made a wrong decision in your lives? If you don't like what you read then scroll past. It's not affecting you in any way. Try spending the time you have spare writing these spiteful comments to help someone instead.

Just sick of people sponging/begging for money on these crowd funding pages! The cost of living is spiralling, the price is petrol is ridiculous, train strikes, small businesses struggling and this guys family/friends are hoping we all chip in and rectify the fact he never done the 'sensible' thing and bought health insurance! Me and the misses work full time jobs and cant afford a holiday and are not gonna fork over money to these crowd funding pages....and most people feel the same! Dickhead or not lol

There really are dome pricks on here. Nathan did have holiday insurance but the Turks found traces of alcohol in his blood so wont help him. Keep your views to yourself if you dont know the facts...ive spoken to him.

Wow Roy, so it's either cough up or shut up! Somehow I don't think you've helped spur on the fund! And 'fallen off the balcony'...I think we could have guessed there were 'trace' amounts of alcohol involved!

Just another piss head obviously who hasn't any filters in he's head. Bloody experience piss up, can't hold he's drink can't just have enough but still know what he's doing,!! got to go overboard & the word overboard being the appropriate word in this case. I bet all these countries hospitals that the Brits go on holiday to are fed up too with this sort of behaviour & I can't blame them for wanting the money upfront from piss heads whether it be male or female. Sorry but he looks old enough to know better now he's expecting other people to pay for he's drinking "please" maybe this may teach him a lesson to grow up & act responsibly.

i found this on a well known bank for travel insurance , "Deliberate harm or recklessness Any claim made as a result of you: • Putting yourself in danger, including danger that could reasonably be predicted, unless you were trying to save someone’s life. • Drinking so much that your judgment is seriously affected. This includes any claim directly related to alcohol abuse basically they wont pay out because he had drunk too much im guessing, nearly everyone has done something stupid when they were younger, i know i have but not to this level, hopefully he will get the 8k and get home

This Citizen is a right wanker judging by his comments. Man up and name yourself so we can see who you really are.

Luckily he didn’t kill himself, pretty sure he’s learnt his lesson now. Insurance voided due to alcohol I’m sure the majority of people drink when on holiday, so regardless of the circumstances and how much is too much this guy needs to come home. Yes not everyone can afford a holiday and yes we’re experiencing very difficult times, which we’ve been told will only get worse. At the end of the day some people will be able to help if only a little and some people may be able to help a little bit more. I don’t know this guy, but l do feel empathy he hasn’t hurt anyone else only himself, he’s not in court room so do not judge him. You either help or you don’t.

Wow. Only just learnt of Nathans accident. I am truly appalled of the assumptions and negative comments of some of our citizens . I also know Nathan as my window cleaner. He is a fine young man, always polite and courteous. If you have nothing good to say, say nothing. Especially as you are guessing at the circumstances someone finds themselves in need.

Wow! Honestly have people not heard of the if you have nothing nice to say then don’t say anything. To those making the comments, I sure hope that you’ve never had any accidents in your life. You’ve never done anything wrong, nor have any of your fiends and family. Honestly unsure why you felt the need to even comment.
