PLANS for the redevelopment of Harlow bus station have been unveiled.
At this point there are dozens of documents in the planning portal on Harlow Council’s website.
The proposal should come in front of the Harlow Council planning committee some time this year.
The proposal details outline planning permission with all matters reserved other than access for the redevelopment of Harlow Bus Station, including a Transport Hub and Interchange, up to 2100m2 of commercial space, up to 24 residential units, walking, cycling and public highways infrastructure, public realm and landscaping.

A bus station is only relevant if there are buses that people want to catch. Labour, in 2019, campaigned to make it easier for local authorities to get involved with managing bus routes. Now, they failed in 2019 although I Iike to think that was down to issues other than buses. However we do have an absurd bus system. For me, living in North Harlow, getting to Stansted is simple but getting to Epping isn't. For others Epping is easier but for those living towards the South West of the town both journeys involve at least 2 buses
Seriously isn’t there more important things that need doing in Harlow than a bus terminal. The market square has been changed numerous times and wasted so much money. They have no idea and priorities are wrong.
I am sure the last redevelopment was less than 20 years ago. If this is tax payers money then it should be spent on something else.
just bomb the whole area the town is just a shit hole who wants to go there
OMG SPENDING MONEY ON THE BUS STATION WITH ALL THE POT HOLES AND OTHER REWARDING THINGS HARLOW COUNCIL COULD BE SPENDING THE MONEY ON TAT TAT TAT HARLOW COUNCIL
I am afraid this is a sign of things to come, more money being wasted on vanity projects. First it was Market Square, then the Playhouse Square and now this. With regular repair and painting and a resurface of the paved area I would suggest that there is little wrong with the present bus station. If a new one is built, what of its future? Unless on going daily works take place it will fall into a state of dis-repair just as the present bus station has.
