Today’s Paddling Pools’ update
Due to the hot weather, we are struggling to keep the chlorine levels up so may need to close pools for a period of time to allow levels to increase.

Sumners (CM19 5SJ) open
Town Park (CM20 2FF) still being refilled so not currently open
Potter Street splash park (CM17 9EJ) open
Staple Tye splash park – current opening date is now 20 August
Pools are staffed from 10am until 6pm. No dogs are allowed in them please

The above article got me thinking about splash pools and other water themed play parks. Churchgate school has a fantastic pool and beautiful surrounds yet it hasn't been used by the school or anybody else for the last couple of years. Older residents in the area remember it being built for the benefit of the school with funds from the council and parents. I gather that the current head of school hasn't the slightest interest in this form of recreation and not much else besides. This current heat-wave would now be the perfect time for this under used facility to be given the kiss of life.
