THE UK has become the first country to approve a dual vaccine which tackles both the original Covid virus and the newer Omicron variant reports the BBC.

Government vaccine advisors say the upgraded jab should be used as part of the autumn booster campaign.

Moderna says 13 million doses will be available this year. Around 26 million people are eligible for a booster.

Health officials say people should take whatever booster they are offered as all jabs provide protection.
