Community Embrace set to hold Food and Festival Community Fun Day

AS part of their mission to bridge the gap between community groups and local residents

Community Embrace UK are pleased to announce the 5th edition of their annual Food Festival &

Community Fun Day.

To be held on the greenspace of the GPCA Playbarn (CM18 6YJ), next to the Staple Tye paddling

pool – the one-day event aims to bring as many groups, cultures, services and nationalities

together for a fun filled party in the park experience.

The festival continues to place a spotlight on the rich multi-cultural diversity in Harlow, offering

people an opportunity to engage directly with service leaders and explore an educational

insight into other cultures and unique lifestyles through the celebration of food, music and lots


Scheduled for Saturday 20th August from 1:30 to 7:30pm, this year’s event has carefully

considered the impact of Covid 19 on families and has chosen the theme: ONE WORLD,

STRONGER TOGETHER as a sign of stimulating the strong community spirit by appreciating

and supporting each other.


The day promises to have a mixture of attractions for everyone with an around the world food

court for sampling, kid’s craft activities, carnival games, funfair stalls, BBQ, traditional

performances, open mic, tombola, raffle, prosecco bar and lots and lots more…

An a-list of both community stake holders and local services will also be in attendance

including Essex Police, Harlow Council, Essex Scouts, Essex Fire Services, Efua Sey Cultural

Academy, Integration Support Services, Find Your Active West Essex, Epping Volunteer

Service, Changing Lives, Rainbow Services, ACL, Roots to Wellbeing, M18 World Food, ASDA,

Home Start Essex, Tree House Family Hub, Coop, Clarion Futures, Luna Emporium, Razed Roof,

NGDA, HibbsHobby Jewellery among others..

Founder of Community Embrace – Herty Ama Twumwaa said: “After the challenges of the last few years, it is time to come together again and celebrate the little things that brought and kept us together through the pandemic.

other nationalities. We want to create a community atmosphere where people feel part of

The event is offered completely free to attend but there are small charges on some items, so

please bring cash as there are no card machine services.
