POSSIBLY one of Harlow’s lesser known tourist attraction The North Weald and District Miniature Railway based in Harlow Garden Centre had a launch day for its newly built (all by volunteers) track extension and Woodland Halt Station stop with turntable on Saturday.
This added another 100 metres or more to the exsisting track making it over 800 metres in length.
It was estimated that over one thousand people attended and over 600 people travelled on the line, costing just £2 each.
There was also various stalls on the day from model train sets to displays from Transport Police, Fire Services, Classic Cars, Steam Traction Engine and Classic Buses.
The railway has regular running days most weekends from 12.00-4.00 pm and operates a fleet of several different engines towing the passenger carriages.
It also runs special events at Easter, Halloween and Christmas.
This is a great little place to visit, check out there website for events and operating days. https://www.nwdmrail.co.uk/

Such a lovely, friendly miniature railway. All the volunteers who help are SO friendly. At £2 per person it is such good value.
The volunteers are wonderful. Everyone is always so friendly and welcoming. They are also happy to share their extensive knowledge. A thoroughly enjoyable experience and unbeatable value. The special events are excellent too. Well done to all involved
