Athletics: Coulter dips under 18 min barrier for parkrun

HARLOW Running and Tri Club members were involved in four Half Marathons at the weekend.

Richmond Park Half Marathon saw Sean Flynn finish in 58th place out of 133 finishers in 2hrs 02min 55sec.

Carsington Half Marathon, a trail race in Derbyshire, where Claire Carter, in her debut at the distance, finished in 98th place out of 153 finishers in 2.16.10.

Kimbolton Castle Half Marathon in Cambridgeshire Harriett Martin, also in her debut at the distance, finished in 306th place out of 317 finishers in 2.43.22. 

At the Suns on the Run Half Marathon, at Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, Laura Prime finished in 9th place out of 31 finishers in 2.03.47.

Meanwhile, at the Orion Harriers 5k on the Rides race Michelle Sheridan finished in 62nd place out of 91 finishers in 25.40.

Harlow triathletes were in action at the Eton Dorney Sprint Triathlon at Windsor (750m swim, 20k bike, 5k run). Ryan Smith finished in 18th place out of 316 finishers and 2nd Vet 40 in 1.09.59. He was followed by Ben Usher 23rd in a PB time of 1.12.30, Terri Wiley 57th and 3rd Female Vet 35 in 1.17.38, also a PB and Paige Bircham 115th in 1.22.57 in her debut at the distance.

There were several parkrun PBs on Saturday morning.

At York parkrun Martyn Coulter finished in 8th place out of 581 finishers  in a fantastic 17.59.

At Castle Park parkrun at Bishop’s Stortford Bradley Holmes finished in 65th place out of 263 finishers in 25.30.
At Harlow parkrun Deborah Pomphret finished in 52nd place out of 168 finishers in 27.35, Alan Godbold was 72nd in 29.28, Donna Milton 79th in 30.07 and Alex Soady 106th in 32.49.
