Princess Alexandra Hospital detail arrangements on day of Queen Elizabeth’s funeral

AS you will be aware, a bank holiday for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s State Funeral will take place on Monday (19 September).
In line with normal arrangements for a bank holiday, routine appointments and procedures will be postponed. All patients will receive direct communication from our teams, confirming and keeping you updated with new arrangements.
Urgent appointments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and the team will liaise with you directly about plans.
Please note that our emergency department (ED) and maternity services, and services for our inpatients, will continue as normal.
The other half has been waiting for an appointment for months. She finally recieved her appointment several months ago after waiting to get one from the hospital. Got within a few days of the one given and of course it fell on the bank holiday and thus was cancelled. Now have the issues we had last time, the department at PAH will NEVER answer the phone (not quite sure why they give you a number to ring), when they do answer either the wrong number (given by appointments) or they have limited the number of people waiting on the phone and you get disconnected and online no appointments availible...so presumably we go to the back of the line to even get an appointment which will no doubt be several months away, provided that we can ever get through to someone in the first place?! Do all appointments now have to be booked through PALS? So very annoyed, there is a lot riding on this. Totally unacceptable and as usual communication is awful! Very scary considering this organisation deals with peoples health.
