HARLOW Town Ladies troubled start to the season has continued after they cancelled their second game in a row.
They were scheduled to play Royston Town in a Eastern Women’s League Fixture but late last night, Royston put the following message on Twitter.
The new manager of the Harlow Town Ladies apologised stating:
Just a few months ago, Harlow Town Ladies set up looked very positive.
They were making very significant signings such as former Tottenham player Sandeep Tak and had just announced a new system for girls and women’s teams from under 12 to seniors.
But soon after, the manager Rudy Hiwaan quit. He soon went to Hounslow Ladies.
Harlow Town seemed to act swiftly and appointed Leon Holden, whom, it appears, has been left with quite a task! We wish him luck.
His first social media messages were recruiting requests for more players.
We are not sure if that has been successful but according to the team sheet for the game that should have been played today (Sunday), Harlow only have ten registered players. Their opposition, Royston have 22.

We have sent a number of messages to Harlow Town’s press officer but found out (indirectly) that they had quit.
The key question may be how long the team can survive in the league?
It would be a shame that in the year that England Women won the European Champs, Harlow Town Ladies, based in an area, close to 100,000 people, can’t field eleven footballers.
In the meantime change name to Harlow Women, it’s gonna be changed eventuality. Do it now don’t be one of the last kicking & screaming. Let’s have equality, Men & Women’s teams in Harlow.
