Division: Harlow & District Football League – Division 1 Cup – Round 1
Match: Parsloe Reserves v Risden Reserves
Venue: The Link
Score: 10-1
Man of Match: Dan McKee
Match report:
AFTER a very slow start by Parsloe which saw us concede after six minutes after a defensive mix-up, we then had a long stoppage due to injury to one of Risden’s strikers we then started playing football.
Play was dominated by Parsloe but it wasn’t until the 24th minute we equalised with Mckee cutting in from the left and firing a shot that was too hot to handle by the keeper.
Parsloe continued to apply the pressure and it was all one way traffic then and in the 37th minute what looked like a cross from Jennings beat the Risden Keeper at his near post.
Two further goals before the break gave Parsloe a comfortable 4-1 lead. Mckee added to his tally with a 30 yard free kick in the 39th minute which the Risden Keeper should have done better with.
Travers-Knott got on the score sheet on the stroke of half time with a tidy finish after some good build up play. Wright should have had a goal but this was ruled out for offside which never was
After the break it was all Parsloe, following four changes and a tweak in formation Parsloe dominated possession and played some good football.
In the 52nd minute we saw the goal of the game, clipped out from Foster in goal with a peach of a left foot pass, Escott picked the ball up on the left and drove at the defence coming across the field of play beating four men, he arrived on the edge of the box on the right and what looked like a cross into the box then looped over the keeper to make it 5-1
The goals continued to come with Escott grabbing his second in the 57th minute following up after the keeper parried a Mckee shot. In the next minute Lacey got on the score sheet with a tidy finish into the top corner assisted by Bonfield.
Parsloe’s 8th goal was as always a well taken penalty by Lacey in the in the 80th minute, struck to the keepers left after Hunt was shoved in the box. Further changes were made but that did not stop Parsloe in the final ten minutes.
Bonfied got on the score sheet with a beautiful left foot curler in the 84th minute, a very tidy finish which the keeper had no chance.
It was then left for Mckee to complete his hat-trick in the 86th minute following up with a left foot finish following good work by Hunt
The game ended 10-1 and Parsloe progress to the next round. Some really good football played and some tidy finishes was very pleasing to see.
Coach’s Comment: “I couldn’t be happier with todays outcome and we are now looking forward to the next round. Some really impressive performances today, Jennings and Escott had really good games but our Player of the Match goes to Mckee with a hat-trick and some very good link up play”
