Athletics: Harlow runners take on the Stebbing 10

HARLOW Running and Tri Club members were in action at the Stebbing 10 mile race on a mild Sunday morning. Lee Webber was first home in 39th place out of 451 finishers in 1hr 08min 30sec. He was followed home by Chris Arnell 125th in 1.19.12 which equalled his PB time, Gary Mead 181st in 1.23.59, John Tennant 187th and 2nd Vet 70 in 1.24.52, Sean Flynn 212th in 1.26.18, Kate Porter 240th in 1.28.28(PB), Paul Dixon 245th in 1.28.41, Alan Cootes 255th in 1.29.34, Michelle Sheridan 280th in 1.31.04, Sandra Webber 285th in 1.31.48, Karen Greenall 412th in 1.49.00 in her debut at the distance and Debbie Mead 419th in 1.50.44.

Meanwhile, at the Essex Cross Country League round 2 race at Epping Forest, in the 6k Womens race Lucy Barnes finished in and excellent 5th place out of 136 finishers in 24.31, Catherine Ridge was 34th in 28.49 and Fieke Blackwell 37th in 29.04.

In the Men’s 8k race Pas Blackwell finished in 29th place out of 258 finishers in a superb 30.42, Martin Westley was 70th in 32.49, Tom Beales 170th in 38.25, Chris Mella 188th in 39.30 and Mark Unwin 236th in 44.57.

At the Remembrance Run Marathon at Hinchingbrook Park, Huntingdon, Laura Prime finished in 4th place out of 25 finishers and 1st Female in 4.25.36.

The Go Tri High Lodge Winter Duathlon at Thetford Forest (2.3k run, 7k bike, 2.3k run all off road) was completed by Jamie Ferreira in 20th place out of 47 finishers in 43.10.

At the Essex Remembrance Run 5k Jermaine Shand finished in 10th place out of 51 finishers in 20.09.

There were parkrun PBs at Harlow parkrun from Marc Witham in 5th place out of 221 finishers in 20.59 and Donna Milton 61st in 26.05.

At Penrose parkrun in Cornwall Joanne Mills finished in 106th place out of 154 finishers in 31.14, a new Female Vet 75 5k Club Record.

At Great Dunmow parkrun Sue Reilly was 54th out of 73 finishers in a PB time of 31.45.
