Refurbished funeral home set to pay tribute to much-loved Jerome Masterson at “official opening”
Business / Fri 18th Nov 2022 at 01:46pm
LOCAL independent family funeral directors, Daniel Robinson & Son will be holding the ‘official opening’ at their funeral home in Station Road, Old Harlow on Saturday 19th November.
The funeral home was formerly run by the late Jerome Masterson and his family. Jerome was a well-respected member of the community in Old Harlow. His parents, Pat & Elizabeth took over the business when he sadly passed away. Daniel Robinson & Sons commenced trading there in February 2021, when Pat & Elizabeth decided to slow down and enjoy retirement.
Gary Neill, Managing Director said “We are delighted that Pat and Elizabeth will be returning to join us and officially open the refurbished premises. We shall also be blessing and naming the chapel of rest “The Masterson Chapel” in recognition of Jerome’s hard work and support to the community of Old Harlow”.
In attendance will be Robert Halfon MP, who will say a few words.
Jerome was an amazing and caring man, our Dad's funeral was made so less difficult with the help of Jerome, on the day my mum had cramp in her feet in car to the final goodbyes to our dad, and loving caring side of Jerome came out as he took my mums shoes of and massaged her feet, what an incredible man, our family was saddened by the news of his death and we send our love to all his family and friends and pleased his legacy carries on x

Your event sounds very special. I am happy the business is continuing. I was part of a funeral home family in Elgin, IL. My father and uncle owned O'Connor Funeral Home from 1930-84. My two brothers, parents, and I lived in the third-floor apartment above the first-floor funeral home in a Victorian home built in 1886. My aunt and uncle and their three daughters lived in the second-floor apartment. The business has changed owners and is still in business after 92 years.
