Crime / Tue 3rd Jan 2023 at 04:18pm

THE LEADER of Harlow Council has issued a statement following the discovery of human remains on New Years’ Eve at Oakwood Pond in Harlow.

Councillor Russell Perrin, said: “I am shocked and saddened as this awful situation has developed within one of our pond areas in the town. I know that this is a concerning time for our residents and the police are working hard to establish what has happened.

I urge anyone who has information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage, which might be related to this incident to contact Essex Police online or via 101. Anonymous reports can be made via Crimestoppers, by visiting their https://crimestoppers-uk.org/ or by calling 0800 555 111.

“There has been contact between the police and the council and our permission has been given for the pond to be drained as part of the investigation.

We continue to support the police and it is important that they are given as much time as they need to find out what has happened. The police will be keeping us and the community updated on their investigation. Cordons around the area will remain in place over the coming days. We ask that residents continue to respect the cordons that are in place.”

A dismembered body looks more like a gangland execution. Anyone who follows true crime knows that Essex Police solving gangland hits is not great. Take the Essex Boys murders as evidence: the 'convicted' killer Michael Steele maintained his innocence throughout; a detective involved with a key associate of the Essex Boys (who later turned supergrass) was arrested on corruption and drugs supply charges, but allowed to leave Essex Police after five years on suspension and a £250,000 golden handshake: https://miscarriageofjustice.co/index.php?topic=6020.165

Yeah I've been saying all along there is a high chance this body has been brought in from another area in the hopes it wouldn't be found and is probably gang related in some way. I highly doubt Harlow have a serial killer on their hands.
