We’re on the scene of a collision on the M11 southbound carriageway and the road is closed between junctions 7A and 7.

We anticipate the road will remain closed for some time while emergency services deal with the incident. 

Officers are putting in place a system to release traffic and we would ask that drivers comply with their instructions. 

We need anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam or mobile phone footage of it to get in contact.

THE M11 in Essex is closed southbound between J7 (Harlow) and J6 (for the M25) due to a serious multi-vehicle collision.

All emergency services including the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance are in attendance.

National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene providing assistance with traffic management.

Diversion Route

Diverted traffic is advised to follow the solid circle diversion symbol:

  • Exit the M11 southbound at J7 onto Hastingwood Interchange
  • At the interchange, take the 2nd exit at the roundabout onto the A414 London Road (signposted Harlow)
  • Continue on the A414 for 10.5 miles until the A10 interchange
  • At the interchange, take the 1st exit onto the A10 southbound (signposted Hoddesdon/Cheshunt/London)
