ESSEX Firefighters paid a visit to Blossoms Nursery in Thornwood last week.

They had been reading about heroes and so it seemed appropriate that the fire fighters came along.

A spokesperson said: “The children had really enjoyed the story  “Superheroes Like Us” by Dr Ranj.

The story books is about real life superheroes who helps us on a day to day basis and we were very excited to hear that one of our nursery parents is a fire fighter. 

The children were very excited to see the ‘big red fire engine’ at our nursery with real life heroes

“We had a lovely discussion about the emergency services, what number do we call and what the fire fighters do. 

“We each had a go at holding the heavy hose and looking at the uniform, some of our children sat inside the fire engine and heard the loud noise!

“The visit was a great success, we would like to thank the fire fighters for all that do and look forward to seeing them again”.
