Harlow Chorus set to perform Mozart’s Requiem

Entertainment / Mon 20th Mar 2023 at 09:57am

HARLOW Chorus is singing one of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s most gripping choral masterpieces this spring. The performance of the Mozart Requiem, in association with leading professional soloists and the British Sinfonietta, will take place on Saturday 15 April at 7.30pm at Chingford Parish Church, E4 7EN, with a return coach trip being organised for concert-goers (details below).

Classical music has been described as having all the blood, the energy, the sinister dark side and rhythm that rock has. Harlow Chorus couldn’t agree more. Musical Director, Dr Edward-Rhys Harry, is promising a performance with an extra level of drama.

“We’re going to be piling it on. It’s going to be very fresh, very energised, very exciting,” he says. “It’s going to send you from the roof down to the bottom of your boots and back; lots of different colours, lots of different moods and by the time you’ve finished listening you’ll be as drained as the performers!”

Join Harlow Chorus to hear the mighty Mozart Requiem sung in stunning and atmospheric surroundings and to discover the mysterious story of its composition. The concert will also feature a not-to-be-missed world premiere performance of The Nazarene written by Dr Harry for Harlow Chorus.

For more details on the audience coach – picking up from Bishop’s Stortford, Sawbridgeworth, Old Harlow and Epping (modest fare applies) – please email Gill Jones: [email protected]
