Police execute closure order for Old Harlow house following links to drugs and anti-social behaviour

ESSEX Police has served a closure order on a house in Harlow following reports of links to drugs and anti-social behaviour.

A spokesperson said: “We had received reports of anti-social behaviour linked to the property in The Oxleys, Old Harlow.

In the last few months, a number of people linked to the address have been charged in connection with drug possession and anti-social behaviour.

Officers worked closely with the property’s landlord, Harlow Council, and secured a closure order at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 23 March. 

It means only those named on the closure order can be on the premises and includes the housing association’s staff, emergency services and relevant support agencies are allowed to enter the house whilst the closure order is in place.

The closure order expires at midnight on Friday 23 June.

Anyone else who breaches the order will commit an offence and faces arrest and prosecution. 

The order could be extended for a further three months if considered necessary.
