RISES in a host of essential bills are now taking effect, adding pressure to strained budgets – but the lowest earners are also receiving better pay reports the BBC.
The start of April marks the point at which council tax, water bills, and some mobile costs rise, coming just as food prices are soaring.

I know Harlow council have not put up there council tax but my tax has still gone up by over 150 pound + heating bills through the roof Fuil and food bills not sure how long my private and old age pention can keep up with paying for it all.
And the biggest council rent increase in living memory, don’t brush that under the carpet!
I would just like to thank the politicians in all parties for causing this while pretending they had nothing to do with it and have all the answers. In reality they have printed tens/hundreds of billions of pounds (inflation), failed to implement energy security, pursuing insane policies which impoverish us all via net zero. Failed to correct the house price inflation while at the same time failing to ensure sufficient new houses are built for our youngsters. Increased taxes to the highest in living memory, failed to invest in infrastructure such as roads etc. Honestly in the May election the best option is to write none of the above on the ballot paper
