Review: Goldilocks and The Three Bears at the Harlow Playhouse

A PACKED house enjoyed a wonderful evening at Goldilocks and The Three Bears at the Harlow Playhouse.
Not every theatre does an Easter Show and so it is aways welcome in Harlow. For many families it comes at a good time when the schools have just broken up for Easter and they all look forward to a couple of weeks off.
The show combines musical numbers, drama and comedy interludes.
There was simply something to entertain everyone and the audience lapped it up.
Harlow favourite, Ben Parsley kept the comedy running with his great timing. Whether it is “Russell Brand’s let himself go” or answering “£2.50 please” when asked what he says to a woman he spilt popcorn over!
He is also helped by a number of foils/partners especially Fanny. Where would the Playhouse be without Fanny?
It was also good to see the good old Abbott and Costello sketch “Whose on First?” get an airing. One for the grandads there!
As well as The Two Ronnies Mastermind sketch. All brought up to date.
The great thing about the show is its pace. It kept everyone entertained and had something for everyone.
It had great singers, great characters but also really good one liners and quips. A Harry Styles quip and a hand grenade joke came to mind.
We must not forget Goldilocks and The Three Bears! They were all splendid. Great bear costumes!
One of the great bonuses for The Harlow Playhouse is how many people leave, looking forward to the Christmas pantomime (Beauty and The Beast).
Well done to KD Theatre Productions and the whole team at Harlow Playhouse.
